Who Are We?
We are a parent's co-operative group, providing an after school care programme at Karori West Normal School.
We are based in our own room (the OSCAR Den) and operate daily from 3:00pm to 5:45pm during school terms.
Holiday programme is also available.
The Parents form a committee to manage the group and to employ experienced childcare workers to run the programme. We are also registered as an Incorporated Society.
Child, Youth and Family have approved us as a provider of OSCAR services.
What is the Programme?
Our programme starts as soon as school has finished and continues up to 5:45pm. We have a manager and supervisors, who ensure children are well looked after during their time at OSCAR.
Afternoon tea of juice, fruit, biscuits are provided, followed by optional toast with spreads. We have a wide range of sporting equipment, board games and activities available, also a television that is used sparingly. Art and Craft activities, baking and indoor and outdoor games are part of the weekly activities.
How Much Does it Cost?
The Fees are currently $56.00 per week for each child attending fulltime. Part time Fees are $14.00 per day.
Fees are paid by an automatic payment fortnightly in advance, or you can pay by cheque for a term in advance.
We only provide for permanent places, we are unable to offer a service
for casual places.
If you meet their eligibility criteria, WINZ may be able to assist
you with fees.
