Principal's Message
Tēnā koutou katoa, Shalom, Namaste, Talofa lava, Konnichiwa, Ni hao, Kia orana, Malo e lelei, Chao, Hello, Zdravstvuite, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Salam, Hola, Annyong haseyo, Hallo, Ciao, Nei ho, Suosday, Ni sa bula, Kamusta, Bonjour, As-salaamu ‘alaykum, Hola, Γεια σας (Yia sas).
We have been enjoying another settled (and warm!) week at school, as learning programmes and routines are becoming more familiar to children, and as teachers are quickly building the picture of learning needs and the social dynamics of their classrooms. It is very important work - and a task that our teachers are experts in doing.
School Picnic
We hope that you can join us tomorrow evening for our start of year school picnic. The weather forecast looks favourable - and it is sure to be a relaxed evening in which you and your family can connect with others in our school community. See you there - there will also be ice blocks for our akonga!
Thank you
A simple note of thanks to those wonderful people in our community who routinely donate food, which is then given to children who don't have lunch. It is very generous and thoughtful, and is appreciated by those with hungry tummies.

We are delighted to welcome Charlotte and Thalia to our learning assistant team this year. Both Charlotte and Thalia are highly skilled, and we are very fortunate to having working with your children this year.

Developing Strong Reading Habits
As I am sure you know, regular reading is very important for children. This can come in many forms: through their own enjoyment of a self-chosen text, shared reading (e.g. of a story or a news article), guided reading (e.g. with texts sent home from school) or reading to (e.g. the treehouse series at bedtime). It all makes a positive impact, and we strongly encourage you to keep these good habits at home. It matters.
